Youthmarkets are organized in collaboration with community-based partner organizations. GrowNYC provides planning and development, training, management oversight, and sources fresh, locally grown produce from regional farmers. The partner hires and employs youth, provides market locations and publicity, and serves as the crucial link between the Youthmarket program and the community.

The community partner is essential to the Youthmarket model. Community partners can be non-profit organizations, schools, churches, or even concerned local business people; the only requirements are a strong link with the community and a willingness to commit to supporting a farm stand.
