Volunteering with Greenmarket can be an educational, fun and rewarding opportunity. Whether you are leading a school tour or stuffing envelopes, volunteers play an integral role in the Greenmarket team.

If you are interested in open space, gardening or horticulture, opportunities are available to volunteer with our staff either in the office or in community gardens throughout New York City.

Corporate Volunteering

GrowNYC periodically has opportunities for corporate employees to roll up their sleeves and help improve New York City's urban environment. Our staff will manage the logistics of your project and provide tools and supervision. Corporations have the opportunity to work in a community garden, plant trees alongside youth, or green large-scale street fairs and events by educating the community on recycling and coordinating waste reduction and recycling collection. Staff will educate volunteers about community gardens, habitats, and waste reduction and recycling. We ask participating companies to make a donation in order to defray project costs.
