The Stuyvesant Town Greenmarket brings fresh food from local farms straight to the doorsteps of Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village residents, and is open to the area public as well.  The 2009 features the same great line up as last season.  Choose from certified organic and specialty vegetables, heirloom apples, stone fruit and berries, farmstead European style sheep and cows milk cheeses and yogurt, fresh Hampton Bays fish, pickles, preserves, chutneys, and organic artisanal baked goods.  Regular cooking demonstrations and family friendly events make the Stuyvesant Town Greenmarket the place to be on Sunday mornings.

Liz Hohn grew up in Oberlin, Ohio, surrounded by a lot of soybeans fields and a few family farms, at which she and her family participated in “pick-your-own” during appropriate seasons.  She always liked cherry and blueberry picking the best.  Mmm, sour cherry claffouti. Her parents always had a garden, so in the summer she ate a lot of tomatoes and basil.  Liz spent a few months on a small sheep farm in Vermont learning how to make cheese and being a shepherdess, and after college spent a year cooking in various restaurants in D.C. She loves working at Greenmarket and talking to customers about anything food related.
