Are the services rendered by the Office of Recycling Outreach and Education really free?

OROE was funded as part of New York City's Solid Waste Management Plan that was passed in December 2006. It is housed at Council on the Environment of New York City. Since they are paid for by the City of New York, OROE's services are delivered without charge to city residents.

What is the goal of the Office of Recycling Outreach and Education?

OROE's goal is to increase the level of recycling in New York City

OROE will help to achieve the goals that are described in the NYC Twenty Year Solid Waste Management Plan by focusing on waste prevention, composting and recycling outreach and education
