The Office of Recycling Outreach and Education works with community groups, students, tenants, shareholders & home owners to improve recycling. Staten Islanders are highly knowledgable about recycling, yet there is still confusion about specific materials.

Set up an effective recycling program in your apartment building, coop, or condominium!

We work with New York City residents to increase participation in the residential recycling program and promote waste reduction, materials reuse, and composting.

Free Services:

  • Building recycling assessment
  • Recycling workshops and free Recycling organizers for each participant
  • Assistance with collections for textiles and electronics
  • Information on waste reduction, reuse and composting programs offered by the City and other local groups
