Extended through December 2008...

Second Chance Saturdays at the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket

Contributions from Brooklyn residents made this pilot program an immediate success since its launch in January 2008 and because of great participation and reception by the community, we are extending Second Chance Saturdays through December 2008. We have already collected over 30,000 pounds of unwanted textiles at the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket and we need you to help us spread the word about the extension of this program. Please tell someone today that they can still bring unwanted textile materials to the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket EVERY Saturday between 8:00am-4:00pm.

At this collection, we accept all textiles, including:
  • Clothing
  • Shoes
  • Hats
  • Coats & Jackets
  • Towels
  • Bedding
  • Boots
  • Household linens

Look for our tent at the Grand Army Plaza Greenmarket. You can get rid of your unwanted clothing and help keep valuable materials out of the New York City waste stream by participating in this program. Goodwill Industries will provide receipts upon request for those who want to use their donation as a charitable contribution.

This program is a collaboration of the Council on the Environment of New York City's Greenmarket and Office of Recycling Outreach & Education programs, and Goodwill Industries of New York and New Jersey.
