Martin Luther King Jr. Park (adjacent to Henry Street Settlement) wasoriginally built as a "vest pocket park" during Mayor Lindsay'sadministration. In 1993 GrowNYC collaborated with Henry St. Settlement torenovate the triangle shaped park. The park has two main areas. Thefirst is sunny & open. There is a small lawn surrounded by roses.In between the two sections is a 12 foot diameter gazebo. Along thepath leading to the second area are wheelchair accessible planters. Thesecond area is shady. There is a slate, patio with picnic tables andanother lawn surrounded by ornamental shrubs & flowers.
