In one decade’s time, the abandoned lot at Prospect Heights Community Farm was able to turn into a flourishing garden with the help of the community. With 50 members and 30 plots, the demand is so high that there is a waiting list for obtaining your own box in the garden. The three 300 gallon tanks at Prospect Heights Community Farm collect 900 gallons of water. The 656 square foot roof from which rain water is collected belongs to Dan Kelly, a garden member. Rosemary, a gardener at Prospect Farms is seen here using the rain water harvesting system. The trees are so thick and tall that they hide the entire 3 barrel system, making it almost invisible to outsiders.
