What started out as an empty lot became the beautiful New Visions Garden in 1992. It has a multiple barrel rain water harvesting system, collecting from the 2 gutters of a 175 square foot shed/shade structure. Each barrel holds 50 gallons, storing a total of 200 gallons. The garden is maintained by senior citizens in the East New York area. The vegetables grown are given to neighbors and gardeners. Eliza Butler, one of the dedicated gardeners at New Visions leads scarecrow making workshops in garden.
