Decatur Playground

Decatur Playground

Decatur Playground was created as an effort by Fordham Bedford Housing. Tony Garcia, who helped build the rain water harvesting system together with CENYC staff at Decatur Playground, is working on building another rain water system at a nearby playground. The 1000 gallon tank at Decatur collects from a 3072 square foot roof of an adjacent residential building. One inch of rain is all it takes to fill it up. Solar panels on the roof are used to power the drip irrigation system in the garden.
