Are you a teacher interested in helping your students gain a better understanding of local agriculture and the importance of eating fresh, seasonal foods in a fun and interactive way?  Then sign up for a Greenmarket tour!

Our tours:

Introduce the concepts of seasonality, local food, and sustainable agriculture.

Enable children to interact directly with farmers.

Teach about the health benefits of eating farm-fresh food.

Explore the community created by the farmers market as a fun, interactive, and nurturing space.

Discover the diverse varieties and delicious flavors of foods available at Greenmarket.

Discuss the environmental impacts of eating local and seasonal foods versus out-of-season foods that have been shipped long distances.

When: Tours may be scheduled at any of our markets from April through early November, but days, hours and availability vary by location.  At our Union Square Market, tours may be scheduled Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays between the hours of 9 AM and 3 PM year round.

Cost: $25 per tour.  Each student receives a take-home folder of fun, educational materials and a taste of farm fresh produce.

Tours are typically 45 to 90 minutes in duration.

Maximum number of children per tour: 32. You must bring at least 1 adult for every 5 children to supervise the tour.

Please book early, as tour availability is limited! Tours will be confirmed by email.
