Manager

Omowale Adewale was born and raised in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. A vegetarian since 15, he loves to help youth and seniors enjoy healthy, local eating. In 2001, he helped launch Grassroots Artists MovEment (G.A.ME) at Hunter College where he double-majored in Political Science and Media. Through his travels throughout West Africa and the Caribbean he has learned the art of good food, culture, and fun.
Ten years deep into the Bronx, O's activism in food justice has become widely known throughout the "BX", including at the Borough President's Office where he was co-honored for his role in the first Bronx Food Summit. Now at Greenmarket, Omowale intends to expand his food justice crusade in some of the "kewlest" farmer's markets in the city.
