
Thanks to a generous donation from the Astor Center, and our partnerships with children’s culinary educators and renowned chefs and restaurants who build their menus out of Greenmarket bounty, Greenmarket is now offering seasonal cooking classes for public schoolchildren in grades 3 and above.
Students shop for ingredients during a special Union Square Greenmarket tour and then walk to Astor Center’s state-of-the-art kitchen to prepare their own farm fresh lunch under the expert guidance of professional chefs and children’s culinary educators. Seed-to-Plate classes offer nutritious, affordable, complete meals with easy, child-friendly recipes that students can take home and make again with their families.
Please note: Enrollment is very limited and contingent on participation in School Tours at market, Meet Your Farmer visits, and On the Farm field trips.
