Grand Army Plaza, open since 1989, is our flagship Brooklyn market (our second largest following Union Square.)  Located at the northwest entrance to beautiful Prospect Park, this destination market brings together a diverse mix of shoppers from the Park Slope, Prospect Heights and Crown Heights neighborhoods. Runners, dog-walkers, families, singles and foodies, all converge to buy from the huge array of farm fresh products and participate in the free events taking place every Saturday all year long.

Year-round, every Saturday: Family-friendly events including cider pressing, planting, pumpkin painting, cooking demonstrations with local chefs, and raffles. Our “Meet Your Farmer” series gets you up close and personal with our producers. Learn from the fisherman how to fillet a whole fish, get beekeeping secrets from the honey guy and taste freshly grilled market-inspired pizzas from our bakers. New York Wine and Grape Foundation's Uncork NY features tastings from local farm wineries.

Manager

Heather Rubi moved from fighting Wyoming wildfires and working with Greenpeace to join the farmer-loving crew of Greenmarket.  As a Minnesota native, she spent summers working on her family's farm, and can drive a tractor and chop wood with the best of them. Heather hopes that the insight and experience gained here at Greenmarket will help her one day run her own farm in the North Woods.
