
There are a number of factors: their response to solicitations made to schools or regional offices, the need for EE, the schools theme, their location with respect to key environmental resources and where our other school sites are.
Mainly by CENYC staff based on research into community needs, discussions with school personnel and availability of funding. Students often choose which project component they wish to participate in.
We work in regular subject areas such as Earth Science, Environmental Science, and Global Studies, on a weekly basis. We work with 2-5 classes in each school for an entire semester or an entire school year. We have recently developed a 4 to 6 week module for schools and educators interested in shorter, issue-specific format. Click here to learn more.
Tree planting, recycling, building and displaying solar ovens, reporting defective environmental conditions, educating others about eating healthy locally grown food.
