Councilman Gentile makes an appearance every Saturday to talk to his constituents and do his shopping. | Allison Whaley grew up in Kentucky, surrounded by tobacco fields and horse farms, where she used to sneak onto neighboring plantations to play in musty barns (and was shot at only once). Growing up, farmers markets were the norm. After teaching organic gardening skills as a Peace Corps Volunteer in South America, Allison moved to the Big Apple, baffling friends and family by landing a job that fuses her nostalgic Kentucky past with her Peace Corps experiences. Find Allison in one of her Brooklyn Greenmarkets, and you’ll find a girl who could not be happier. | |
