
OROE has partnered with Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer’s Go Green programs in three neighborhoods to make CFL (compact fluorescent light bulb) recycling even easier. Thanks to a grant from Next Level for Recycling residents can now recycle their used, unbroken CFLs for free at the following locations:
EAST HARLEM - Hope Community
174 East 104th St b/t 3rd Ave and Lexington. [ M-F 9-5 ]
WASHINGTON HEIGHTS – Northern Manhattan Improvement Corporation
76 Wadsworth b/t 176th & 177th Streets. [ M-F 9-5 ]
LOWER EAST SIDE – Green Depot
222 Bowery. [ M-Th 10-7, Fri/Sa 10-8, Sun 11-7 ]

NYC Department of Sanitation’s Special Waste Sites – Recycle fluorescent tubes (up to 4 feet long) and CFLs. The Manhattan drop-off site is located at 605 West 30th Street, between 11th & 12th Aves. For more information, site hours and locations in other boroughs click here.
