175th Street between Wadsworth and Broadway is transformed into a bustling marketplace over-flowing with fresh local fruits and vegetables. The residents are dedicated shoppers and love the market, and school groups and other community organizations are frequent visitors to the market, which serves as classroom and social center. This market hosts several of the larger farms in our program with some of the most affordable product. S&SO Farm, Migliorelli’s Farm and Hoeffner Farm come from Orange county with a wide variety and large quantity of fresh produce throughout the season. Nolasco’s and Rodrimex provide diversity of Mexican products with the same great quality and price. Caradonna Farms brings fruit from their orchard in Ulster county and Meredith’s Bakery provides a selection of delicious pies, cookies and breads. This year we are expanding the offerings at the market to include fresh seafood from Seatuck Fishery on Long Island, and Cheese, eggs and smoked meats from Millport Dairy in the heart of the Amish country. Pure, raw unfiltered honey, grapes and grape juice from the finger lakes region of New York will be available later in the season.
Community activities, cooking demonstrations and recipe exchanges will add to the diverse nature

She worked for 6 years as an adventure guide in the mountains of Colorado, then wandered the world before landing in NYC. While planting a green roof with middle school kids from the Bronx, Sarah realized she'd gotten back to my 'roots', and started seeking more ways to connect "youth" with farming. She’s worked with the UN Youth Caucus on Sustainable Development, Stone Barns Farm Camp, and now joins us as a Greenmarket Manager. | ![]() |
